The weekend

Due to the impending forecast of monsoons and dire end of the world rain we made point of getting out and running around as much as we could before the rain started. Saturday: We were out of the house all morning yesterday at the Zoo with Wylie's friend Emma and her mom. This time we remembered to bring our lunch with us for a picnic. The kiddos ended up wanting to eat before we got to our special spot above the gorilla preserve but we had fun! Potty Training Note: We had the same underwear on the entire time from leaving the house to getting in the car and heading home. (10 to 2:30). Three trips to the potty with two having pee. We let Wylie play to his hearts content and then eat dinner, watch a movie and head to bed late. Mostly because we didn't know if it was going to rain on Sunday or not. Potty Training Note: One accident but told us before it went too far. Otherwise did quite a good job. Sunday: Pancakes for breakfast in which Wylie ate three plus one small one. He's been eating a ton lately. All healthy good stuff but still a ton. Met up with Bibi, Bruno and Irene at the park. The sun was out it was beautiful. Wylie wasn't into the park so much but he played for awhile. Potty Training Note: Wylie whined to go home and I thought he needed to pee. I should have taken him. One accident. As soon as he went and sat he wanted to stay. Need to remember that que. While Wylie napped I made bagels. Five ingredients. Easy, yummy and rewarding. It started raining which derailed our plan to get Holliday out to the dog park. We did however watch a bulldog ride his skateboard through the alley. I'm telling the truth. He even used his back right paw to give himself speed. We played three games of Candyland while having our "cocktail" hour. Wyatt with a beer, me with an Old Fashioned and Wylie with a club soda and cocktail cherry. After that because it was raining Wylie decided we needed to take Holliday for a walk. Mostly because he finally has puddle stomping, mud mucking, arghhh inspiring pirate rain boots. He also has a fun pirate umbrella just his size. I wore the bright yellow Disneyland Paris poncho we purchased on our honeymoon during a Parisian monsoon. We had stuffed acorn squash and rice for dinner while listening to it rain. Potty Training Note: Wylie did well during the rain and dinner. He twice was ushered into the bathroom with just a slight amount of pee on his underwear. He then peed. We also had two major meltdowns in the process. It feels like we should be watching it snow. I'm sure we will be sick of the rain in a few days but right now it's really nice.
