A business trip by the numbers...

We went to Denver this weekend for a business trip. It was the Walden University PhD residencies with all the schools in the college. I was conducting focus groups among our students to evaluate thier experience with the program model and faculty model. Very exciting research. I also had the opportunity to talk to students outside of the groups to get a feel for their research, thier excitement and their goals. I really enjoy going to the residencies and getting energized by the students. So here is the trip by the numbers... Flights: 1 On Time LAX to Denver 1 Delayed for no apparent reason Denver to LAX 1 Flight supposedly scheduled on 21st not 22nd leaving Wyatt without a seat. We then fought with American Airlines to get him on the plane.

Rental Car Issues:

1 Compact Rental Car Reserved

1.45 hours In line waiting to get car

1 Ford F150 offered as solution to lack of compact car reserved

1 12 passenger van offered as alternative to Ford F150

1 BRIGHT RED MUSTANG given as solution to lack of compact car reserved

1 Tank of gas used

Hotel:

1 Room 2 Beds 10 Windows with view of the pool 1 Pool that held Wylie's fascination continually when in the room or hotel 1 order of room service 6 towels used per day 1 set of dishes never picked up by the hotel cleaning service 3 elevators needed to get from room to garage in hotel Visits outside of the city: 1 National Park-Rocky Mountain National Park 3 Museums A. Colorado Railroad Museum--15 Trains played in, on and around B. Downtown Aquarium--Tons of cool fish, one bengal tiger, one flashflood experience, one really cool opportunity to watch the divers feed the fish. C. Children's Museum of Denver--Fun run around hands one museum that gave Wylie the opportunity to try and do anything and everything. A total YES zone. 3 Towns outside of Denver: Golden, Boulder, Estes Village 1 Trolly Ride-Platt River Trolley. Obsessive Freak Out Moments 1 Bruised Ear (see previous note) for Wylie from falling off bed 1 Headache with stomach bug for me 1 Gross burp splat stomach bug for Wylie 1 Elevator that refused to go down and instead went up 19 floors too quickly for my liking 1 Banana Caused Hysteria in airport by Wylie. He literally went bananas for the banana that Wyatt bought and put in my purse.
