Egg Allergy

We know he has a cow's milk allergy which according to our pediatrician we can retest at age 3. I am pretty sure Wylie has an egg allergy. If he eats an egg his face breaks out with large bumps and what ultimately looks like razor rash but on his cheeks and anywhere the egg has touched his face. On Saturday I wanted to see if it was the actual egg touching his face or another systemic reaction. It's the latter. I made scrambled eggs rather than fried (which are his favorite). The scrambleds make it all the way into his mouth not touching the cheeks. He broke out in the rash again. We've tried to identify what we eat with eggs in it that he's reacted poorly to or hasn't reacted at all to. The reality is that we don't eat much food that has egg in it. I've talked to his teachers and the cook at school about the amount of egg he has access to and again not much if any at all. So I'm thinking I'll start reading labels of food Wylie eats that are prepared outside of our kitchen. Hopefully I'll be better about this than I was with the previous food plan.

ackgh.

we think wesley is still allergic/sensitive to dairy too...if i can count the nonstop diarrea as a sign for allergy after we tried cheese and yogurt.

but i do like how it makes me look at our food a bit closer...and we've already decided that clare won't suffer from his allergy if it turns out that way! ice cream cones for wesley: ice cream for clare!

We got a minor confirmation at the peds today. He basically approached it from the keep watching we'll do blood test at check up in two weeks if any other symptoms. UGH
