What does 104.5 mean to you?
In my world it means my husband is driving like a maniac through the streets of Beverly Hills, driving over medians, honking wildly while running red lights, and mostly trying his best to get Wylie to the hospital we JUST left.
Wylie had his first real fever (MD and Nurses at Cedars didn't believe me) on Wednesday afternoon. We took him to the ER because the peds office was closed and his fever kept increasing. His temp at 2:30 was 100.8 by 9pm his temp was 104.5.
Wylie was diagnosed with a double ear infection.
Wylie was given a mega dose of Azithromycin (Zithromax) and a dose of Tylenol before we were discharged.
Literally five blocks from the hospital Wylie had a febrile seizure. Shaking, funky breathing (get a little spit in your mouth then suck in and blow out through the side of your mouth), staring in one specific direction and not responding to anyone or anything. Which prompted the above mentioned driving by Wyatt.
Wylie was given an additional dose of Motrin at re-check in and then we remained in the hospital until 11pm. At that point my beautiful wonderful happy baby returned to me with a fever of 100. We watched and waited all night and then went back to the peds the next day.
Final diagnosis double ear infection bacterial cause.
