Okay, I work in market research, I KNOW THE POWER of good customer service.
Unfortunately I don't really expect it all the time. In fact most times I
expect the opposite.
Medela USA just won my brand loyalty.
I own about six nursing bras. Three are by Bravada (the sports bra type)
and three are by Medela (the underwire traditional type). The Medela in
particular are designed to work with my breast pump.
I love my Medela's. I handwash, hang dry, and rotate in order to keep them
from wearing out too soon.
Last night while nursing Wylie I felt something poking me in my side, the
underwire came through the fabric of my bra. I ignored it for the moment
then switched sides with Wylie. As I was unhooking the clip on my bra the
entire clip came off in my hand. It had come loose from the bra making it
essentially useless as a bra at all (unless I wanted to hang out on one
side).
So I called the store where I purchased the bra. They in turn gave me the
customer service number for Medela and wished me luck.
I then called Medela. I wasn't looking for anything other than maybe an
explanation, possibly a good will gesture of a coupon or something. The
woman on the phone was incredibly nice, she listened patiently as I
explained how the bra appeared in one night to have essentially fallen to
pieces. She then asked how I washed and wore the bras, where I purchased,
when I purchased, how often I wore it etc. She also asked if I used other
Medela products (which I do).
THEN SHE DID IT! I didn't even ask for anything. She asked for my mailing
address, bra size and the color so that she could send a new one out to me
immediately! I offered to send the old one back as proof it fell apart. She
said it wasn't necessary!!!!!
How cool is that!
