Laguna Beach
We spent the weekend in Laguna Beach as guests of one of Wyatt's classmates. The beach and town are very reminiscent of small beach towns without the throngs of tourists. We arrived late on Friday night which ended up being a good thing as Wylie slept through the night, while Wyatt, Brian, Sean, Edgar and I stayed up late drinking margaritas and talking. It was a good time.
Wylie and I woke up early the next morning, played in the room before heading to the grocery store to get eggs and bacon for everyone's breakfast. After breakfast we packed up and headed for the beach.
Wylie enjoyed the sand and surf, didn't find the taste of sand too unpleasant. He really enjoyed (deep hearty laughs) the "Skimmers?" the surfers? I'm not sure what to call them essentially these were guys who would surf the little waves using a skim board. Really cool to watch and they make it seem effortless. I wonder if Wylie will learn to do this when he's old enough?!
We spent a few hours at the beach and then took a mini detour to find a Winery that ended up being a waste of time. The reds all had a horrible alcohol aftertaste and were in general unimpressive. I was really bummed.
Wyatt and Wylie spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the pretty patio and garden at the house. I took a nap as I was hit up with a Migrane headache that only this morning truly is beginning to subside.
I would really like to take a long weekend and head down to Laguna Beach and stay at a hotel or resort on the beach. The little town is beautiful but a driving nightmare so we only drove through and didn't stop to walk around.
