I was a cliche this morning.
I was the liberal mom driving her Volvo Station Wagon who had to pull over to weep while listening to NPR.

The interview was brief and incredible. A single mom who was of limited IQ and has worked at a Dunkin Donuts her entire life. She has raised her daughter on her own. Her daughter is now in the Gifted and Talented program in highschool with an application and good chance of attending Cambridge University in the fall. Proof of Life.
The daughter pointed out to her mom that at one of the parent teacher conferences she warned her teacher that her mom was of limited IQ. At the end of the conference the teacher remarked how intelligent and caring her mom was.
Yep, still makes me cry.
Caring about your children and believing in them is the key.
