First Day of Kindergarten

He's officially a Kings Park Lion
Today was his first day. Wyatt and I walked him to school as we will for the next year and hopefully the next few years. We saw many families walking to school with their children this morning. It felt quite good. People were saying hello and greeting each other. The school was NOT a madhouse even though there are 8 kindergarten classes!
Some positives for the first day:
1. The principal of the school was standing on the corner near the turn in to the school greeting school buses and walkers.
2. The vice-principal was at the front door greeting parents, new students and returning students to the school-by name!
3. The cafeteria was set up for a "Boo-hoo Breakfast" for those who needed a bit of time for saying good-bye on this first day of school for some and for some parents to catch their breath.
4. Wylie walked back to his classroom and walked right on in. His teacher remembered his name, got it right, and I had two minutes to chit chat with her about the upcoming week.
5. Wylie found his seat,  his place to put his backpack and lunch box, as well as came and waved good-bye.

I will be positive about this.

If you zoom in on the photo, you get a fantastic sense of the imp that will be attending school this year!
