Running 101 Session Three

Session Three was last night.
It was an "easy" 10 minute out and 10 minute back slow "easy" run.
Yes I keep putting easy in quotes because that is how my coach kept referencing the run. It was easy for some and not so "easy" for others. I fell into the others group. It was a hard run. It started with a slight downhill which encouraged me to go a bit faster than I should and then of course that brief down hill started to go up and remained up for the rest of the 10 minutes which was actually a mile. I measured it on the way home. So, my easy 10 out was me doing a 11:55 mile. CRAZY LADY.
I was running with another woman who is a perfect pace 12 min miler. Perfect pace. We just kept going until the 10 min miler people turned around however they just kept going and were having a GREAT day so they were running a 9 min mile!
It was actually rewarding when we were done.

So the easy 10 min out and back was actually a 24 min run or 2 miles which ever you wish to call it. I walked about 4 to 5 minutes of it. We walked about 1/2 mile there and back at a quick pace and then did running drills after we returned.

Slow and steady.
I will get there.

Slow and steady definitely wins the race. The running club sounds fun. You've inspired me to look around for something here so I'm not always running solo. And I tell you, I definitely channeled you during my half marathon. I'm still completely in awe that you've run a marathon(s)!
