The weather will be turning a bit cold from the nice weekend we had but dipping only into the 40'sF. It will be dry and cold.
Monday Morning Weather Forecast 9am
The temps will be warming up to the mid 40s we might see a raindrop or two due to an upper level disturbance that is passing far to the west of the city and region.
Monday Morning Weather Forecast 11am
Temps aren't as high as we thought today but you still might see a raindrop or two as the disturbance is closer than we thought but nothing will hit the ground.
Monday 12noon
Currently snowing HARD outside the Don Beyer Volvo Dealership. Wyatt called to let me know. It was completely dry in Baltimore.
Monday Afternoon Weather Forecast 2:15pm
There is some cold air mixing with a bit of moisture in the upper level disturbance causing a few flurries and some light snow to fall. There is no expected accumulation from this and all will pass by 5pm.
Currently it is still snowing hard and 1/2 inch is stuck on the grassy areas in Burke.
Monday Afternoon 4pm
Currently snowing HARD in Burke. Wyatt and Wylie are snow tubing in the front yard (a bit more than flurries I think)
I get on the train in Baltimore to head home and it is dry and cold but not anything out of the ordinary for January. Fall asleep on train. Wake up at 4:40 in DC to BIG WET snow flakes and more than flurries. Wonder if I got on the wrong train.
Monday Evening 5:05 pm
Snowing HARD in DC and in VA. Train conductor warns of slippery platforms and the snow piles up as we get further and further west. Wyatt calls to tell me the forecast is still just flurries with little to no accumulation.
Monday Evening 5:50pm
Arrive at VRE in Burke. 1 inch of snow on car and on platform at station. Roads are slushy but completely drivable. Listening to weather forecast and road conditions on WTOP in car sounds like this...
"Some of the listening areas may be experiencing light snow flurries and possible sleet with wet weather conditions causing the roads to be slick. Our biggest concern with the passing disturbance which should be completely through the area by 6pm is the freezing of the roads overnight" NO mention of accumulation. None. Did they go look outside?
So what do you do when you get this wonderful and beautiful suprise snow? Make a yummy dinner and go play of course. Wyatt and Wylie had already changed clothes once due to their playing in it and getting their jeans wet from the snow but we bundled up a second time to go play while it still snowed. Much later than 6pm mind you.

| Starting a run that went quickly |
| Air Head snowtuber in the front yard on 1+ inches of snow. This is one of the snow tubes we bought in 2009 for the massive storm that hit the DC area at Christmas time. |
