Earthquakes

In 2006 when we moved to California within a few weeks of our move there was an earthquake. Not a big one only about a 4.0 but still it wasn't my first but it was my first in CA.

In 2009 when we moved to the condo in Playa del Rey we had three earthquakes during our moving weekend which amounted to a 2.1, 3.4 and 4.9. The 4.9 came while Wyatt and I were at the Star Trek movie during the scene in which Vulcan explodes. While a very a cool special effect it was a bit disturbing.

It is now 2011. We moved into the house in Kings Park on 8/13 and spent our first night there exactly one week ago. Guess what happened yesterday...
A 5.9 here on the east coast. The disturbing part was that being on the 8th floor is a bit more shaky than on the main floor or in a movie theater.
Trains were running very slow as the tracks and tunnels needed to be inspected which meant my commute that should have started at 4:50pm didn't start until 6pm and ended at 9pm. Slow but I did get home.
