Wylie's 3 year check up

Wylie 1 Pediatrician's office 0 Mama: 1/2 mostly prepared for the appointment but didn't prepare Wylie well enough Wylie's 3 year check up was yesterday. His stats: 34lbs (lost 1 lb in the past three months) 37.5 inches Tests at the office: 1. Eye test. This was the equivalent of herding a cat. The nurse actually expected Wylie to stand really far away, point out a picture and hold the eye cover over his eye. He made it through two pictures before deciding to walk up to the pictures and point out the ones he liked. 2. Blood test. I feared this. Wylie was a champ. He didn't care that he was pricked in the finger. Sat patiently while the nurse squeezed a vial of blood out of his finger. I swear she was trying to juice Wylie's middle finger. He just sat there and watched and talked to the nurse. No tears, no fussing, no nothing. 3. Blood pressure test. You would have thought Wylie was being tortured. He didn't want the cuff on, he didn't want anything to do with this. But they managed to get it done and when it was over he was all interested in the cuff. 4. Pediatrician test. Eye test, ear test, mouth test went just fine. Again Wylie was a champ doing as asked until the lay down on your back and get your belly checked. He LOST IT again. This has been the norm his entire life. Feedback: 1. Wylie definitely has knock knees. It's normal, it's usual, and it will go away by the time he is 5. 2. Wylie still has allergies. Egg and Dairy are still to be avoided. Rash around his lips is most likely due to drool not a new food allergy. We are on a watch and wait. No allergy testing recommended at this time. Still no peanuts. 3. Wylie's Vocabulary and language skills are fantastic. Pediatrician was impressed with his discussion and use of language. 4. Potty training will start in a few days. Absolutely acceptable that we haven't been able to get him back on track after the move and school transfer. So he's turning 3 if you can believe it.
