Renovation...Finally

The kitchen renovation started last week and is finally in the rebuild stage. We removed everything from the kitchen including the floor in order to start over from the bottom up. Wyatt destroyed all the cabinets and the sink and the floor. He and his dad successfully installed a new subfloor and we now have a room that has a great subfloor, patched walls and new electrical wiring for the garbage disposal. What's next you ask? The next few steps are finish prepping the walls for the first coat of primer paint, putting the self leveler on the floor, and laying the armstrong tile for the kitchen floor. After those steps are complete we move onto the building and hanging of the cabinets followed by installation of the countertop and installation of the stove and fridge. Photos of the demolition coming soon.

The self-leveler rocks. I used it in our master bath rennovation in Michigan and it worked really well. It mixes up really runny (so it can flow enough to self level) so be sure and contain it (watch for holes in the subfloor or undercabinets). And then just have faith that it will dry.

I actually only used it for the nails from the subfloor and the seams. It worked similar to the joint compound used for drywall seams.
It is great and hopefully will make laying tile easier!
