Multicultural

So when in the past five years did the term multicultural become synonomous with Hispanic? I was recently at a meeting where two large companies were defending their understanding that sitting on a multicultural consortium was about doing research among the Hispanic and sometimes african american/black ethnicities. THEY were in no way concerned with the Asian American community. Mostly because they felt it was too diverse to start to study. I appreciate that the Hispanic community is growing exponentially and the big market push but when it comes to understanding and reaching people it seems short to ignore a large and vibrant group. In particular one that is out earning and out learning the general market. That would be the Asian Americans...
